| The Ekiti state Government has said it would absorb 4,000 unemployed youths into its public service this year.Gov Segun Oni said this on Wednesday in a broadcast in Ado-Ekiti to mark the 12th year anniversary of the state. Ekiti State was carved out of old Ondo State on Oct.1, 1996 by the then Head of State, Gen. Sanni Abacha. The Governor said the 4,000 jobs would be spread across the civil service commission, teaching service commission, the universal basic education as well as the local government service commission. He stated that the N15.4 billion cassava processing industry at Elemesho-Ekiti, expected to provide 8,000 direct employment, would soon start production.
The Governor said the N12.4 billion biofuel station at Iyemero-Ekiti, which would provide 8,000 direct jobs and 50,000 indirect jobs would also commence operations soon. “The state is moving on a fast track for industrialisation. Within the last few months, we have had a Federal High Court, an NNPC mega station and a branch Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). “With the journey so far, we give thanks to God for his kindness. Today is indeed a day of celebration and deep reflection. ``With the affirmation of our administration by the tribunal on Aug. 28, more dividends of democracy will be delivered to the people of Ekiti State,'' he said.
